The portraits by Jovan Balov are not realistic or naturalistic replicas. One of Balov`s artistic principles is to show the analytically founded enhancement of reality behind the surfaces. His hyperrealism emerges in his portraits especially by filling the personalities with life beyond their samples - photos, sculptures etc. - through his painting techniques.

1987 Diploma in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje. At the end of the 1980s emigration to Berlin. 2004 founding of project Prima Center Berlin.
